Assalaamu Alaykum
Quick question brothers and sisters regarding marriage, if anyone could help insha'Allah... I understand that generally a father can marry his young daughter off without her consent prior to her entering puberty. However, what I was wondering was, what about when she is ready for the actual marriage, however she does not want to go through with it, what happens then? I understand that in the Hanafi Madhab, she has the 'option of puberty', how about the other 3 madhabs? What do the contemporary scholars say regarding this matter. There are many ahadeeth to post and links however as I am in a rush I will not able to post these for the time being. If any knowledgable brothers/sisters could get back to me it would be greatly appreciated.. barak'Allahu feek'um ma'salaama |

Wa Alykom Assalam,
Search the Multaqa. And a piece of advice: Busy yourself with what benefit you in the hereafter. This is a useless topic for you and a waste of time for many other people.

jazak'Allah khayr akhi,
Although I would disagree with your point about it being a useless topic, I understand and appreciate what you are saying about doing what will benefit one in the hereafter, may Allah reward you. I have searched and read up, but haven't really got an answer, hence why I posted. barak'Allahu feek |
