2) If my father was married to a women (who is not my blood mother) and he did not consummate the marriage with her and later decided to divorce her is it halal for me to marry my step mother?

Please Inshallah'tala give me Proof from Quraan and Hadeeth or the ruling of the Scholars in regards to this, I will say sorry in advance as arabic is not my mother tongue because I am a revert to Islam, so please reply in English or If you do post any sources in arabic please translate it for me.

If I do not greet back in writing then know I do it verbally because sometimes I am too busy and just want to answer the question.

I will answer you inshallah since you have a valid reason to ask. However, since you are new to the Multaqa, please note that if you look for fatwa then you need to serach and contact trusted Islamic fatwa website such as Islamqa.com or Islamweb.net or amjaonline.com. This section is made to explain a fatwa you have not understood or confused you. See this: http://www.ahlalhdeeth.com/vbe/showthread.php?t=10274

To answer your question from Islamqa:

1) If a man makes a marriage contract with a woman and she has a daughter, then he leaves her before consummating the marriage with her, then it is permissible for him to marry her daughter, but if he leaves the mother after consummating the marriage with her, then it is not permissible for him to marry her daughter, rather she is permanently forbidden to him.

2) If a man marries a woman, then simply by virtue of the marriage contract she becomes permanently forbidden in marriage to his father, even if the marriage was not consummated, whether he dies or he divorces her. [This applies vice versa too]

I do not know. Post your question related to book in the Liberary section and others will help you, inshallah.

Sine you are a revert, let me give you this advice so you do not end up like some reverts who think high of their intellect.

Researching is one thing and conluding is another thing. The former is good so long you do not end up balancing views and discussing them because this requires qualification and in-depth knowledge that you and majority of Muslims do not have. That said, do not confuse yourself and just focus on being good in character, fulfill your duties toward Allah and people, and stay away from any doubtful matters because this is what Islam is really all about. The rest can be a test that you may never pass.
