Essentials of Hanbali Fiqh (Purification & Prayer)

Course Overview
This course covers the essential rulings and etiquettes connected with ritual purification
& the daily prayer - as per the Hanbali madhhab, or school of law.

Classes are based on Ibn Balban's Akhsar al-Mukhtasarat and al-Qadumi's al-Ajwibat al-
Jaliyyah - both being authoritative law manuals in the school.

Rudimentary course notes will be provided; no previous studies are required.

Students will learn the rulings related to: (i) types of water, (ii) vessels & utensils, (iii)
answering the call of nature, (iv) personal hygenie & bodily cleanliness, (v) ablution,
(vi) menstration, (vii) ritual bath, (viii) times of prayer, (ix) Conditions & requirements
of the Prayer, (x) Obligations & recommendations of the Prayer.

Duration
Course commences: Tuesday 7th February, 2012.

12 weekly classes x 1.5hrs

Classes Begins: 7:00pm. Finish: 8:30pm.
